Who needs fun barcodes? They are rather unique and look better than their boring counterparts but what intrinsic, increased value does having a designer barcode give anyone? Does it make the product better, is customer service more friendly? Does it even in any way make the job of scanning them in easier? And what about all those people who have a hard time finding the barcode on their own now; while they are standing in the self-checkout lane of their local supermarket or Walmart? How are they going to be able to identify the code if it looks like a Walt Disney Castle?
Just some thoughts.
